El Paso Locomotive

Football arrived in El Paso as a tenant. The city's baseball club, the Chihuahuas, already had a downtown ballpark, and in 2018 the same ownership group put a second-division side into it — announced on 1 March, playing its first USL Championship match the following year. The Locos works in two languages at once.

Southwest University Park remains a baseball park with a football pitch laid inside it. Capacity is listed at 7,500, though the figure shifts with the configuration — the outfield seating that works for one sport does not map cleanly onto the other. The colours were settled on 4 October 2018 and named rather than numbered: High Noon Sun, West Texas Sky, Desert Dusk.

What the club has won is regional. In 2026 they sit fourth in the Western Conference.
