Energija has won the Lithuanian Championship twenty-seven times, most recently the 2026 title.
It has also gone looking for competition further afield in the IIHF Continental Cup, where a group stage played in Narva in the 2024–25 season ended with wins over Skautafélag Reykjavíkur, CH Jaca and the hosts, Narva PSK.
The team's record scorer, Dovydas Kulevičius, has put together 644 points in the Energija shirt, while Rolandas Aliukonis holds the appearance mark with 523 games. Darius Kasparaitis returned to the club for the 2017–18 season, not to chase silverware but to qualify for the Lithuanian national team, and Dainius Zubrus started his career here before his path led to the NHL. Matches against Hockey Punks–Mototoja of Vilnius carry the weight of the country's main hockey derby.
The club took its name and its start from the town built around it: Elektrėnai grew up beside its power station, and when the Ice Palace opened there in 1976, the hockey club followed a year later, in 1977.
