Fiorentino

Fiorentino's football club began in 1974 as S.S. Montevito. The renaming came much later, in 2005, when the club became Football Club Fiorentino and switched to the red and blue that gave rise to the nickname Rossoblu.

Those early decades were unsettled. The club shut down between 1977 and 1979, started again, then stopped a second time from 1982 to 1984, both spells tied to money and organisation rather than results. It also dropped into Serie A2 twice, in 1988–89 and 1993–94.

The one title sits in between those setbacks. In 1991–92, still playing as Montevito, the club won the Campionato Sammarinese di Calcio, beating Libertas in the final. The Coppa Titano and the Super Coppa Sammarinese have gone to others.

Matches against Tre Fiori are called the Derby San Marino. Home games are played at the Campo Sportivo di Fiorentino, also known by the name of Federico Crescentini, in front of a ground that holds 700.

Matteo Vitaioli's connection to the club runs deeper than most: he came through the Montevito youth ranks between 1996 and 1998, left, and came back to play for Fiorentino in 2012.
