Frydek-Mistek

Frýdek-Místek's sharpest fixture is the short trip across the Moravian-Silesian region to face HC RT TORAX Poruba, a meeting with no love lost on either bench. Games against HC Vítkovice Ridera carry the same regional edge. The stranger relationship on the calendar belongs to HC Oceláři Třinec: since the 2015/16 season Frýdek-Místek has served as Třinec's farm club, taking in loan players year after year, so the two sides meet as something between a derby and a family arrangement.

The ice hockey section under this name split off from the multi-sport club TJ Válcovna Plechu in 1976, well before it carried the "Frýdek-Místek" identity fans know today. The club's toughest stretch came in 2004, when financial trouble forced it to sell its second-division licence to Salith Šumperk and start again in the regional leagues. It worked its way back up in stages: the fourth-tier Moravian-Silesian league in 2009, then the third tier in 2016, a result that carried the club, now nicknamed the Lynxes, back into the Chance Liga. It has never gone further than that; a top-flight Extraliga title has stayed out of reach.

Home games are played in red, white and black at the Hala Polárka, built to replace the old multi-purpose hall demolished in 2013. Squad turnover runs high, since Třinec's loanees rotate through most seasons, though veterans such as Rostislav Martynek gave the roster something steadier to build around.
