Gorilla

Alain Kirasa took charge at Gorilla in June 2024, taking over from the Belgian Ivan Minnaert, who had left at the end of the previous season. The club he inherited had grown out of a takeover: in 2019 the SEC Academy in Kigali was bought out and renamed, and within a year the new side had already won the Rwandan second division, beating Rutsiro FC in the final to earn a first-ever place in the Rwanda Premier League.

Under Kirasa, the results have gone the other way: seventh in 2024/25, eleventh the following season, with the closest thing to silverware a run to the semi-finals of the Amahoro Cup, where Rayon Sports ended it.

Gorilla play in blue at the Kigali Pelé Stadium, a 22,000-seat ground in Kicukiro, and line up against APR FC, Police FC and Kiyovu Sports as the capital's established sides. Gorilla have yet to add a league title or a cup to the runners-up medal from 2023.
