Kaerjeng HB

For fourteen straight seasons, from 1977 to 1990, the women's team of Handball Käerjeng won the Luxembourgish championship every single year, and even then the club kept adding titles into the early 1990s and 2000s. That streak belongs to a team playing under a different name, HBC Bascharage.

The men's side took longer to catch up but eventually built its own record, taking the Luxembourgish League in 2014 and 2018 and finishing runner-up five times across the 2000s and 2010s. In the Luxembourg Cup the club has been more consistent at finishing the job, lifting the trophy four times, in 2004, 2008, 2015 and 2016, against six runner-up finishes stretching back to 1998.

Goalkeeper Chris Auger became one of the faces of that era, playing for the Luxembourg national side.

Ahead of the 2023/2024 season, HBC Bascharage dropped its old name in favour of Handball Käerjeng, aligning the handball section with Union Käerjeng 97, the wider multi-sport club it belongs to. The team still plays out of the Kaerjenger Dribbel in Bascharage.
