Marko

Marko had waited sixteen years for a step it had never taken, and in 2025 it finally took it: winning Gamma Ethniki Group 4 sent the club from Markopoulo Mesogeas into Super League Greece 2, the professional second tier, for the first time in its history. The last comparable high came three decades earlier, when the 1994/95 side lifted both the Athens Football Clubs Association championship and the Delta Ethniki title in the same season, opening the door to the Gamma Ethniki.

Between those two peaks sat a harder story. Marko dropped out of the national leagues in 2010 after sixteen years there, fell again in 2021, and each time had to work its way back up through the East Attica FCA divisions before pushing for promotion again. The emblem carries a green vine leaf, and the shirt has stayed green and white throughout.

In Mesogeia, the fixtures that matter are against Koropi and Aittitos Spata; Marko became only the third club from the area to reach the Second Division, following those same two neighbours. Further back, in the Greek Cup, the club reached the semi-finals twice, in 1959–60 and 1964–65, a mark few clubs of its size in the region have matched since.

Home games are played at the Municipal Stadium of Markopoulo, which holds 3,000.
