Nava

Promotion to Liga ASOBAL had never come easy for Nava, and when it finally arrived in 2019, on the back of a División de Honor Plata title, it made the club from Nava de la Asunción the smallest municipality in Europe fielding a team in the top flight of an Olympic sport. The road there ran through a lost promotion final the year before, against BM Sinfín, and a second one lost in 2022–23, this time to Puerto Sagunto, after Nava had already been relegated from ASOBAL in 2022 following a 15th-place finish. It returned to the top division anyway for 2023–24.

The club was founded in 1976 by Quintín Maestro and Alfredo Pascual, both former players at national level, who set it up to compete in the provincial leagues around Segovia.

Juan de Dios Román held the title of Honorary Member at the club until his death in November 2020. Among the players who wore the Nava shirt, Bruno Vírseda stood out for carrying a second career as a bullfighter alongside handball.

Matches against Ademar León and Atlético Valladolid are billed locally as the Derby of Castile and León.
