Ol.Grodkow

The hall stands inside the Zdzisław Zielonka general high school in Grodków, on ulica Sienkiewicza, with room for 600. It carries the name of the man who founded the club in 1972.

A senior side only followed decades later, in 2008, after the handball section of GKS Grodków had folded in 2002 and left a gap in the town. Since 2013 that senior team has played in the I Liga, Poland's second tier, with a fourth-place finish in 2014/2015 as its high point there. The promotion that got them into that company came in 2017/2018, when Olimp — known to their own as Olimpianie — won the II Liga's Lower Silesia group.

The club's clearest product is Jan Klimków, born in 1998, who came through at Grodków and played for the first team from 2015 to 2017 before Gwardia Opole took him on and a move to France followed; he has since worn the Poland shirt. Gwardia, a Superliga club, remains the measure Grodków is judged against regionally, but the fixture that matters locally is against ASPR Zawadzkie, played out as the Derby of the Opole Region.
