Olympiacos SFP

Nenad Kljaic took charge of Olympiacos in the years that followed the club's 2017 reorganisation. The section first existed in 1931, folded after the Second World War, and flickered back to life briefly in 1990 before the lack of a proper hall shut it down again. It was the 2017 merger with the champion side IEK Xini that gave Olympiacos a roster capable of winning, and winning is what followed almost immediately: in that first season's final they came back from 0–2 down against AEK Athens to take the Greek Championship.

AEK remains the team's fiercest opponent, the derby both sides treat as the biggest date on the handball calendar, with PAOK the other name that keeps cropping up in Olympiacos finals. The club has beaten AEK for Super Cups in successive years, 2022 and 2023, before adding a third against PAOK in 2024.

Home games are played at the Melina Merkouri Indoor Hall in Piraeus, a ground with room for 2,500, though for finals and European nights the club has moved to the larger Peace and Friendship Stadium in Marousi. It was there that the run to the 2023–24 EHF European League final ended, Olympiacos losing to Valur on a penalty shootout after getting further in Europe than any Greek side of its era.

The nickname "O Thrilos" — The Legend — belongs to every Olympiacos department.
