Oman's under-20 side, run by the Oman Football Association and nicknamed the Red Warriors after the senior team's colours, moves between the two.

It first appeared at the AFC Youth Championship in 2000, going out in the group stage in eighth place, and then did not reach the finals again until 2014, when it finished bottom of Group C on a single point. Under Hamad al Azzani, Oman won its qualifying group outright and travelled to China for the finals, drawn in Group D alongside Syria, Uzbekistan and South Korea. A FIFA U-20 World Cup place has still not followed any of the four appearances.
