Ozgon

Names have changed more often than divisions here. The club started life in 2001 as Kara-Shoro, after the mineral-water resort in the hills outside the town, and has since been Dostuk, Uzgen, Kara-Shoro again, and now Ozgon. Under the Kara-Shoro name came the result that still matters most in the lower divisions: first place in the southern zone of the First League in 2014.

Osh sits some 30 to 40 kilometres down the road, which makes Alay the fixture the town measures itself against. Both clubs belong to the Osh region, both draw from it, and nobody has felt the need to give the meeting a name. OshSU-Aldier provide a second local test.

Three of the squad have been called into the Kyrgyzstan under-23 side — among them the goalkeeper Omurzak Oronbaev.

Home is the Central Stadium in the town centre, white shirts with red shorts, and 2,600 places on the terraces.
