Petrovac

Ivan Brnović, the Budućnost president, once listed the sides he expected to chase his team through the season, and Petrovac came first among them.

It started in 1969 as FK Nafta, playing its way through the Yugoslav pyramid and, after a runners-up finish in the Montenegrin republic league in 2000/01, spending five seasons in the Yugoslav Second League. When Montenegro became independent and set up its own First League for 2006/07, Petrovac was one of the founding members, and it has never dropped out of it since.

The season that still defines the club is 2008/09. Petrovac beat Lovćen 1:0 in extra time in the Montenegrin Cup final, and the trophy carried them into Europa League qualifying that summer. Anortosis came to the coast and lost 3:1. A second cup final followed in 2014/15, lost 1:2 to Mladost in extra time again.

Home is a 1,630-seat ground below the hill, opened the same year the club was founded and known for decades as Stadion pod Malim brdom. In 2022 it was renamed after Mitar Mićo Goliš, a former player and club captain.

Vladimir Vujović, a defender who went on to Budućnost and won three Montenegro caps from 2007, came through here.

The Conference League qualifiers are the current route back into Europe.
