Pogon Szczecin Women

The section grew out of the 'Szczypiorniak' handball association formed in Szczecin in October 1949, in a city then being resettled by Poles moved from Lwów; the junior side MKS Kusy fed players into MKS Pogoń from 1961. It became one of the country's most successful women's teams, taking the Ekstraliga title in 1983, 1986 and 1991 and the Polish Cup in 1971, 1986 and 1992, with further league runner-up finishes in 1990 and as late as 2016. In Europe it went twice to an EHF Challenge Cup final without winning it, losing to Mios Biganos in 2014–15 and, under coach Neven Hrupec, to Rocasa Gran Canaria in 2018–19.

The original club, run for a time under the sponsored name Pogoń Baltica Szczecin, was liquidated in 2019. MKS Kusy Szczecin, the same feeder side that had supplied it with players since the 1960s, carried the tradition forward and took the name SPR Pogoń Szczecin in 2021.

Navy blue and maroon remain the club's colours. Home matches are played at the 730-seat Hala Miejska on Twardowskiego Street, with the much larger Azoty Arena used when the occasion calls for more than a handball hall can hold.
