Sambor Tczew Women

Kinga Grzyb played 266 times for Poland and reached the fourth-place match at the 2013 World Championship; she came up through the Sambor Tczew academy. The handball section dates to 1957, one of the founding branches of MKS Sambor, a multi-sport club whose first president was Bronisław Kalkowski, then director of the local high school.

The women's team has spent most of its life shuttling between divisions and sponsor names — SPR, Latocha, Aussie, Energa — while fans and reporters have simply called it Sambor throughout. It reached the Superliga for the 2014/2015 season and went straight back down after the play-offs. Promotion has come the other way instead: a second-place finish in the 2024/2025 I Liga Masters Tournament sends the team up to the Liga Centralna for 2025/2026.

On sand, the club's beach handball side, BHT Sambor Tczew, has been more competitive at the top level, reaching finals in the ORLEN Summer Superliga and the Beach Handball Polish Cup. Indoors, the senior team still has neither a Polish Championship nor a Polish Cup to its name.

Matches against Vistal Łączpol Gdynia carry their own label, the Derby Pomorza. That is where Sambor sit now: back in the second tier.
