Handball in Põlva goes back to a single club carrying the town's name since 1984. Serviti has taken the Meistriliiga title nineteen times, including every season from 2015 to 2025 bar one.
HC Kehra is the team that keeps supplying that question. Serviti's four Baltic titles — 2008, 2010, 2023, 2025 — mostly came with Kehra standing in the way at some stage.
Kalmer Musting has coached the club since 2004, which means more than two decades of the championship list above belongs to a single dugout. Among the players who came through under that continuity, Alfred Timmo left for a period and came back in 2022.
The clearest marker of where the team now sits against Europe rather than just its neighbours came in the 2020/21 season, when Serviti reached the quarter-finals of the EHF European Cup before Ystads IF ended the run — the first time an Estonian club had gone that far in the competition.
The Põlva Mesikäpa Hall, floored in maple and in use since 2003, holds 612.
