Rodovre Mighty Bulls

The Rødovre Skøjte Arena holds 3,600 people, a number that has changed little since the rink opened in 1995 on the site of the old Kostalden. Sponsorship now carries the name Holger Danske Arena, but the club still plays there because it has never needed anywhere bigger: Rødovre Mighty Bulls have stayed in the top flight of Danish hockey without interruption since going up in the early 1960s, a run few rivals in the Metal Ligaen can match.

The name on the crest is younger than the club itself. Founded in 1961 as Rødovre Skøjte og Ishockey Klub, the team rebranded as Mighty Bulls in 2003. What did not change was the run of championships built up before that, six Danish titles between 1978 and 1999, and a Danish Cup added in 2007.

Michael Smidt's 669 appearances for the club say more about Rødovre than any single trophy. The academy's export list runs to NHL names such as Lars Eller and Jannik Hansen, while Tommy Pedersen and Jannik Stæhr had their numbers retired. Games against Rungsted Seier Capital are billed as the Battle of Zealand.

For all the silverware from the 1970s and 80s, the championship has not returned to Rødovre since 1999, and the club's only major trophy since has been the single Danish Cup.
