SC Kriens

In the Autorama-Cup, run before that under the name SRS-Turnier, the club beat FC Bayern München .

The competitive high points are two promotions to the top flight, in 1992/93 and 1996/97, and one spring afternoon in 2010. On 5 April that year Kriens played FC Basel in the semi-final of the Swiss Cup and lost 0:1.

The stadium that stood from 1970 to 2016 held 5,100, and only 540 of those were seats — the rest of the terrace stood. The club plays there in the 1. Liga Promotion and, in other seasons, the Challenge League, in green and white.

Kriens itself sits in the canton of Lucerne, close enough to the city to be part of its agglomeration, and football there had already failed twice before the current club existed. Fussball Club Kriens lasted from 1920 to 1926. Rasensportclub Kriens ran from 1931 to 1939 and then stopped. Sport Club Kriens was founded on 1 July 1944.
