Sioni Bolnisi

Data Sitchinava has scored for Sioni Bolnisi in four different seasons stretched a decade apart, from 11 goals in 2014/15 to 20 in 2025.

The team traces its identity to the Bolnisi Sioni, the fifth-century cathedral standing in the town centre after which it was renamed once it reached Georgia's top flight in the 1995/96 season, having played for years before that under the name Madneuli. The club was founded there in 1936.

Its single top-division championship came in 2005/06, the high point of a run that had already produced a runners-up finish in 2003/04 — a campaign that ended badly, with a 0-2 play-off defeat to WIT Georgia followed by a UEFA ban over crowd trouble. The title earned Sioni a place in the following season's Champions League qualifying rounds. A bronze-medal finish followed in 2013/14, and two years later the club reached the David Kipiani Cup final without lifting the trophy — a domestic cup Sioni has never won.

The club's stability came apart in 2016, when relegation to the second division ended a run of 20 straight years among Georgia's elite. Promotion arrived again in 2021 on the back of a second-tier title, but the top flight lasted only one season before another drop. Sioni now plays in Erovnuli Liga 2, working from the Tamaz Stepania Stadium in home colours of yellow and black, with an away kit in black.
