The Palacio de los Deportes de la Rioja holds 3,809 people, with room to grow to 4,500, and it is where Sporting La Rioja plays rather than in Lardero, where the club is formally registered.

Founded in 2009, the club spent years working toward the top flight and reached the point of promotion once, in 2019-20, only to turn it down for lack of money. The chance came again in 2021-22, when winning the División de Honor Plata sent the club up for the first time. Relegation followed in 2022-23, but Sporting La Rioja won the División de Honor Oro the very next year, in 2023-24, and went straight back up.

None of it has yet produced a Liga Guerreras Iberdrola title or a Copa de la Reina.
