Technika Brno

In 2017 the club gave up something it did not have to lose: its place in the 2. Liga, the third tier of Czech hockey, sold rather than defended, and for four years there was no senior side to speak of. It came back in 2021, starting again in the regional Krajská liga mužů Jižní Moravy a Zlína, which it won in 2022–23, and worked its way back to the 2. Liga East it had walked away from.

The club traces itself to 1963, when VŠTJ Technika Brno took over from Slavia VŠ Brno, a university team founded in 1920 and tied ever since to Brno University of Technology; the ice hockey section itself only took proper shape in the 1970s. The name has changed six times since — Technika VŠ Brno, IHC Technika VŠ Brno, VSK Technika Brno, a spell merged with HC Blansko, HC Technika Brno, and since 2021 Technika Hockey Brno.

Home games are played at Sportcentrum Lužánky, a hall built for children's and youth hockey that seats 500. Two second-tier titles, in 2005–06 in the East group and 2012–13 in the Central group, brought no promotion either time.

The sharper edge these days is Vyškov, the regional derby that gave Technika an 8:2 defeat in January 2025 and a 3:2 loss the December before. Kometa Brno counts as a rival too, though the gap between the clubs has widened into a different division entirely.
