Ticino Rockets skate in the Swiss League as the development side for HC Ambrì-Piotta and HC Lugano.
The Biasca operation traces back to 1987, when HC Iragna first took the ice in the village of Iragna. The team became Iragna 3 Valli in 2005, then Biasca 3 Valli once it settled in Biasca in 2007. Promotion to what was then the National League B in 2016 brought a new identity, HCB Ticino Rockets.
That did not stop the club lifting the Swiss Regio League title that same year, nor from landing one of the bigger scalps of its history a few months later: a 2-1 win over National League side SC Bern in the first round of the 2016-17 Swiss Cup.
Red, blue and white remain the club colours behind the Rockets name.
