Trojka Ostroleka

A handful of schoolboys' sides in Ostrołęka needed somewhere to play organised handball, and that need became UMKS Trójka on 3 September 1998. That origin still shows: the club trains out of the Sports Hall of School Complex No. 5.

The senior team spent most of its life in the lower tiers of Polish handball, so the 2021/2022 season stood out on its own terms: Trójka won Group 3 of the II Liga and went up to the I Liga for the first time, a promotion the local press called a historic season for the club. Waldemar Salis, a former goalkeeper who had become something of a club legend, took the senior side through that first year in the second tier, and when results wobbled that November, Rafał Niećko came back as player-coach to help hold the position before personal reasons took him away again.

Adam Głażewski, born in 2009 and raised through the academy, was named best goalkeeper at the 1/8 finals of the Polish U-18 Championships in 2024 and picked up the same award at the Veszprém Cell Cup in Hungary before moving on to Orlen Wisła Płock II. The junior sides keep testing themselves against clubs well above the town's size — in February 2026 they knocked out Wisła Płock's youth team on penalties to advance in the national championship.

In the I Liga, Trójka now measures itself against Start Konin, SPR Pabiks Pabianice and Enea Orlęta Zwoleń — company it only started keeping in 2022.
