Tzeirey Tamra

The 2023 play-off against Hapoel Bnei Bu'eine never settled the promotion question cleanly: the match turned violent between players on the pitch. It happened on a ground built for 2,000 people, Osama Ghanim Stadium, where Tzeirei Tamra have played since taking shape as a club.

The team did not simply appear in 2013 — it picked up after Hapoel Bnei Tamra folded in 2010, giving the Arab town a senior side again after three years without one. The name carries that intent plainly: Tzeirei Tamra, the youth of Tamra. Red shirts with white shorts mark the home kit, a plain enough scheme for a club that has spent its life climbing through Liga Bet and now sits in Liga Alef North, the third tier, still short of a league title.

Cup runs have not gone far. The furthest the club has reached in the Israel State Cup came in the 2023/24 season, when Bnei HaGolan VeHaGalil ended their run in the last 64, 2-1. Players such as Marwan Kabha have come through without moving on to a Maccabi Haifa or a Hapoel Be'er Sheva.

That locality is what drives its rivalries. Hapoel Ironi Arraba, from a town barely five kilometres off, and Maccabi Tira meet Tzeirei Tamra often enough in the regional structure that the fixtures carry weight without needing a name attached to them — the kind of derby that matters because the towns are close, not because anyone has branded it one.
