Vallentuna

The club, known locally by its initials VBK, has spent most of its life in the lower divisions, and that has shaped what it is known for: the players who came through its junior ranks before moving on. David Engblom left Vallentuna's youth system and went on to play more than 400 games in the Swedish Hockey League. August Berg followed a similar route into the top flight, turning out for Djurgårdens IF, Leksands IF and Modo Hockey.

The club itself came closest to the top when it spent three seasons in HockeyAllsvenskan, the second tier, between 2000 and 2004, before relegation sent it back down. A more recent promotion push ended in 2021, when Piteå HC knocked Vallentuna out in the Play-In round. Since then the senior team has stayed in Hockeyettan's southern group, while the club's junior side has kept working through the qualification rounds that feed into regional competition.

None of that has softened the local rivalry with Sollentuna HC, a neighbouring club whose name ends the same way Vallentuna's does, which is reason enough for supporters to call their meetings the Tuna-derby.
