Weiz

In the summer of 2002, SC Weiz hosted Everton in a pre-season friendly, and a 16-year-old Wayne Rooney scored a hat-trick against them. Everton won 10-2, and the result has followed Weiz into football trivia ever since.

The club itself started out in 1924 as the football section of ATuS Weiz, a workers' sports association. It plays in green and black.

Christian Ilić came through the youth ranks at St. Lambrecht, Judenburg and Murau before joining Weiz's first team in 2012, and it was from there, with six appearances and a single goal to his name, that he earned a call-up to Croatia's under-18 side in 2014. He moved on to Hartberg and later played for Motherwell, Lokomotiv Plovdiv, Kryvbas and Dinamo Bucharest.
