Deutschlandsberger SC

Gernot Fraydl came up through Deutschlandsberger SC's own ranks before Grazer AK took him on, and from there his career carried him to FK Austria Wien, where he collected two league titles and two cups, then to Hertha BSC, and into 27 caps for the Austrian national side.

The club itself dates to 3 April 1935, set up on the initiative of a Hungarian, Karl Altenaichinger senior. Blue and orange were meant to be the colours, but orange fabric ran short in the post-war years, so yellow took its place at home; orange survives only in the away kit, kept as a nod to how the club began.

1974 brought the Steirische Landesliga title, but a reorganisation of Austrian football at the time meant no promotion followed. The same league title came round again in 2015, and that year the club reached the Regionalliga, the third tier, for the first time in its history. Two years later, in 2017, Deutschlandsberger SC won the Steirer-Cup, beating USV St. Anna on penalties, 5-3, after the final finished level.

Matches are played at the Koralmstadion, known locally as the DSC-Arena, which holds 2,500, 500 of them seated. The ground replaced Jahnwiese, the club's home until 1984, and was rebuilt in full in 2004.
