Tillmitsch

The village club took shape in 1968. It stayed modest for decades, and by 2013 relegation had pushed it low enough that it merged with FC St. Nikolai/Sausal, winning promotion to the Unterliga in 2016. The partnership held until 2018, when St. Nikolai withdrew and the Tillmitsch side carried on alone, briefly as SU Tillmitsch before reclaiming its old name.

SV Tillmitsch won the Unterliga in 2021/22, then the Oberliga a year later, climbing two divisions in successive seasons. A second-place finish in the Landesliga Steiermark in 2023/24 came with a Steirer-Cup title, which earned the club a place in the ÖFB-Cup. Tillmitsch won the Landesliga outright in 2025/26 and reached the Regionalliga Süd, the third tier of Austrian football.

The team plays in black and gold at the Nunner Arena, a ground that holds around 1,300. Bernd Windisch, who took over as head coach, played professionally for FC Wacker Innsbruck, FC Gratkorn and WSG Wattens before coaching in Sturm Graz's youth academy; his father, Johann Windisch, was a well-known Austrian footballer and coach in his own right. The club is run by president Wilhelm Zirngast.

None of it was in view in 1968, when the founders had nothing more ambitious in mind than a team for the village to call its own.
