Westlandia Women

The women's section was founded in September 1951, separate from the football club of the same name, and has built itself less on trophies than on its own academy.

The team plays as the "groen-zwarten", green and black, colours passed down from the football club's old kit of green shirts and black shorts. They train and play at Sporthal De Pijl, a hall with retractable stands rather than fixed capacity.

What Westlandia has managed lately is movement upward: promotion to the Eerste Divisie for the 2022/23 season, secured by finishing second in the Tweede Divisie B the year before, now continued in the Next Handball League. Iris van Aalst, who joined from Quintus, has given the squad an experienced presence alongside homegrown players such as top scorer Noa Vijverberg, and René Zwinkels has coached the side through this rise.

The fixture that matters most locally is against VELO Handbal of Wateringen — the Westland derby. Westlandia has no national titles to show for its history, only a run to the semi-finals of the District Cup, but the club now competing at Eerste Divisie level was founded 75 years before it got there.
