About the player
Augusto is a product of Sport Recife's own academy, and his rise there has an unusual marker attached to it: the number 68 on his back. Born on 3 November 2007 in São Paulo, the right-footed midfielder worked his way through Sport Recife's youth ranks before being pushed into the senior picture in the 2025/2026 season.
Augusto signed a professional contract and then extended it in May 2026, tying his future to the side that developed him. He has never left Sport Recife, and no transfer fee has ever been attached to his name — his entire career so far has unfolded at the one club.
There is a namesake at the same club worth separating him from. Pedro Augusto Borges da Costa, a different midfielder altogether, also wore Sport Recife colours in 2025 before moving on to Tochigi City FC in March 2026.
