About the player
Coşkun grew up in the German game, passing through the youth ranks at Hertha BSC, FC Hansa Rostock and Dynamo Dresden before starting his senior career at Berliner AK 07. From there he took the route familiar to many lower-league defenders: Wacker Burghausen, a spell with Greuther Fürth's reserve side, and three seasons at FSV Zwickau that yielded 97 appearances.
A move to Greifswalder FC in 2023 brought regular football at Regionalliga level, and it was performances there that took him to MSV Duisburg on a free transfer in the summer of 2024. The switch has paid off: Coşkun has made 69 appearances and scored four goals for the club, helping Duisburg up from the Regionalliga West into the 3. Liga in 2025.
Coşkun holds both German and Turkish citizenship and was capped by Turkey at youth level, making two appearances for the U19s after his debut in February 2017 and two more for the U21s from November 2018. He has not featured for the senior Turkish national team.
He has built his career on consistency rather than a single defining moment, moving through six clubs since 2017 without ever commanding a transfer fee.
