About the player
Elisey Gorshunov arrived at Altay in January 2026 on a free transfer, the latest stop in a career that has taken him through four Kazakhstani clubs in as many years. A product of the Taraz academy, he made his senior debut at Taraz-Karatau in 2021 before moving on to Kaisar, where he spent two seasons.
Listed as a left-footed defender, Gorshunov is also often used further forward as a midfielder. After Kaisar, he had a season at Okzhetpes in 2024, then moved to Kyzyl-Zhar in 2025 before his switch to Altay.
He has yet to add a senior Kazakhstan cap to his record, and has not featured for the national under-21 side either, though he was considered a candidate for the youth squad at one stage. His career so far has been built on short, regular moves rather than a long spell at any one place.
