About the player
Gali Balanta came through the Deportes Tolima youth ranks. Born in Santander de Quilichao, Cauca, the goalkeeper was already appearing for the Tolima under-20 side in 2022 before he was sent out to Atlético FC on loan that March.
His time at Atlético FC is not easy to pin down precisely — some accounts have the loan ending before 2022 was out, others have him still registered there into 2023 — but he was back at Deportes Tolima by January 2024. Since then he has been named in the professional squad in the Categoría Primera A, wearing the number 23 shirt, though senior appearances remain scarce: one league outing for the club is on record, alongside a separate stretch in which he faced five shots and conceded three, a small enough sample to suggest a youth or reserve fixture rather than a first-team run.
He has not featured for Colombia at any level.
