Heriberto Jurado

Heriberto Jurado moved to Belgium in February 2025, when Cercle Brugge paid Necaxa a reported €1.7 million, signing him until 2028 with an option for a further year. He had made his senior debut for the Mexican club at 16, on 20 October 2021, and went on to make 94 appearances across all competitions for Necaxa, scoring twice and setting up seven goals before the move. At Cercle Brugge he made 12 appearances and scored once between February 2025 and September 2026, before joining Puebla on loan for the 2026–2027 season with an option to buy; he has since made two appearances in Liga MX.

Jurado's rise was flagged early: in 2022, The Guardian named him among its list of the 60 best young talents born in 2005. He has represented Mexico at various youth levels, and his standout moment came with the under-20 side at the 2024 CONCACAF U-20 Championship, where Mexico beat the United States 2–1 in the final. Jurado played five matches in that tournament and scored one goal. He had also featured at the 2022 CONCACAF U-20 Championship and, with the under-23 team, at the 2023 Maurice Revello Tournament, where Mexico lost the final to Panama.

Accounts of his origins differ: international databases list Mexico City as his birthplace, while local media in Chiapas have identified him as coming from Cacahuatán, in the ejido Ahuacatlán.
