About the player
Ivan Näsberg came through Vålerenga's academy, which he joined at the age of five, to make 152 appearances and score five goals for the club. A loan spell in Sweden with Varbergs BoIS in 2016 brought 27 appearances and a goal before he returned to Oslo.
In the summer of 2022, Näsberg moved abroad on a free transfer to PAOK in Greece. Over two seasons there he made 26 appearances and scored twice, and was part of the squad that won the 2023–24 Super League Greece title. He then joined Danish side Viborg FF on a free transfer in September 2024, where he made 22 appearances and scored three goals.
Näsberg returned to Vålerenga in September 2025 for a reported fee of €200,000, closing the loop on a career that began at the same club. At youth international level, he represented Norway across several age groups, from the under-16s up to the under-21s, though he has not featured for the senior national side.
