About the player
Jaime Sánchez won the Primera División RFEF with Deportivo de La Coruña in 2023/24, and it is the most tangible honour of a career that began in the youth ranks at Cádiz and passed through Real Madrid's academy.
Sánchez joined Real Madrid in 2012 and moved up through the U19 side and Real Madrid C to Castilla, where he was a registered squad member in 2014/15. His route to regular football then ran through the lower divisions. In 2016 he went on loan to Sabadell and returned to Castilla a year later. He spent 2019–20 with Real Valladolid Promesas, then went back to Sabadell for 2020–21.
Deportivo signed him in 2021. He stayed through the club's return to the third tier's top of the table, and the RFEF title in 2023/24 came in his third season there.
He has one cap for the Spain U21 side. He has not scored a senior goal, which suits a right-footed centre-back whose work is done in his own box.
In July 2025 he signed for Penafiel as a free agent, on a contract that runs until 30 June 2029.
