About the player
Samaria Gómez's career has taken her across three continents. After coming through the youth ranks at AD Legends, she moved into senior football with Real Estelí in Nicaragua, then crossed the Atlantic for spells at Le Havre in France, Elpides Karditsas in Greece and Bnot Netanya in Israel. That circuit brought her to Liga MX Femenil with Necaxa, before a season in Turkey with Amed S.F.K., and now to Atlante Femenil, where she made her debut in August.
The forward, listed at 1.56 m, wears the number 16 shirt and has played at her new club: seven appearances and 433 minutes played by September, with two yellow cards along the way.
Her impact this year has come in an El Salvador shirt. On 2 March she started in the 13-0 rout of Barbados in CONCACAF Women's World Cup qualification and scored in the 53rd minute, then played again the same day in a one-sided 13-0 win over Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. She also started when El Salvador beat Guatemala 5-1 in a friendly in June.
