Samuel Burakovsky

Samuel Burakovsky came through Malmö FF's academy and made his senior debut in a cup match against Onsala BK, part of a squad that won the Swedish Allsvenskan title in 2021, though his own involvement that season amounted to a single appearance after joining the first team in October. Progress from there came through loan spells rather than a settled place at Malmö: a stint at BK Olympic brought 17 appearances and three goals, and a move to Landskrona BoIS in the Superettan produced an identical return of 17 games and three goals.

The turning point came with his transfer to FK Bodø/Glimt, who signed him to a contract running to 2028. He was part of the squad that won the Norwegian Eliteserien in 2024, though, as at Malmö three years earlier, the title came without minutes on the pitch — he made just one senior appearance before being sent out on loan again. Game time has instead come at Lyn 1896, where he scored once in 11 league outings, and at Danish side Kolding IF. He is now on loan at Östers IF, where he has made 21 league appearances and scored three goals in the 2026 season.

Burakovsky plays as a left winger despite being right-footed. He represented Sweden at U16 level, earning three caps. A broken foot bone in the summer of 2025 interrupted his development, but he recovered and continued playing. His father, Mikael Burakovsky, had a career in ice hockey.
