About the player
Stefan Rankić came up through Union Berlin's youth system before making the step into senior football with FSV 63 Luckenwalde on a free transfer in 2021. Two years later he moved to Holstein Kiel's second team, and in July 2024 he joined SV Meppen, again on a free transfer.
Rankić, a right-footer from Bijeljina, was described by those involved in his move to Meppen as a leader and very strong in duels. In the 2025/26 season Rankić won the Regionalliga North title with Meppen, a championship that sent the club back up to the 3. Liga.
At international level, Rankić represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at Under-19 level, earning two caps in 2017 and 2018. He has not featured for the senior national side.
