About the player
Crystal Palace brought him through their academy, but his path to first-team football there ran almost entirely through loan spells — at Crawley Town, Cambridge United, Shrewsbury Town, Brentford and Charlton Athletic — before he made just three senior appearances for the club.
Stints at Wycombe Wanderers and Milton Keynes Dons followed, each on a free transfer, before he returned to Cambridge United — the club where he had once been a loanee — permanently in July 2023.
That return has become the most productive spell of his career. Kaikai has scored 17 goals in 112 appearances for Cambridge, establishing himself as a key player for the club and picking up the Love Cambridge Player of the Month award in February 2024. Earlier in his career, while still on Crystal Palace's books, he collected individual recognition including the League Football Education Goal of the Season award and the club's Vice-President's Young Player of the Year prize, and he was named PFA Fans' Player of the Month in League One in October 2015.
Born in Southwark, London, Kaikai represents Sierra Leone at international level.
