About the player
Wang Dongsheng started out at Zhejiang Professional, then still finding its feet in the second tier, and stayed there for six years as a left-footed full-back capable of playing on either side of the defence. His time at the club culminated in the 2021 season, when Zhejiang won promotion to the Chinese Super League — a squad achievement he was part of, even though his own involvement that year came down to a single league appearance.
He went on to make around 107 appearances for Zhejiang and scored five goals. In February 2025 he left on a free transfer for Chengdu Rongcheng. He has racked up 26 league appearances since the move, and Chengdu have qualified for the 2025-26 AFC Champions League Elite during his time at the club.
He has not been capped by the China national team, and his path through the youth ranks before turning professional in 2019 has stayed largely out of the spotlight.
