Akron City

Green Street Stadium sits on the campus of St. Vincent–St. Mary High School, and the pitch is also known as John Cistone Field. It holds 3,000, which has been enough for a club that averaged 625 in its first season. In February 2026 Akron City added a second home, InfoCision Stadium-Summa Health Field at the University of Akron, for that year's games.

The club began in September 2021 under an ownership group led by Nick Turchan, a sports finance executive, and entered the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) for 2022. The first match, on May 14, drew 1,051 people and ended 2–1 against the Pittsburgh Hotspurs. Jaden Wright scored the club's first goal. The rest of that year was harder: the team finished 2–6–4, and the first Technical Director, Kia Zolgharnain, resigned for medical reasons after three games. Jay Stepp took over as head coach. A sixth-place finish in the Great Lakes Conference followed in 2023.

The turn came in 2024. Akron City went 8–2–0, reached its first playoffs and lost the conference final 2–0 to Steel City FC, which took a second straight title. The club also won the USASA Amateurs Cup that year. Steel City is now counted a rival, though the bigger fixture is the I-77 Rivalry with Cleveland SC, named for the interstate between the two cities. Cleveland holds the historical edge. The supporters' group, Rubber City Underground, takes its name from Akron's old nickname.

In December 2024 the club announced a move to USL League Two, saying it wanted more community impact and a platform for local players. The squad is mostly local college players from Akron, Cleveland State and Mount Union. Under Andy Hoggarth the 2025 debut brought third place in the division, with five wins, five draws and two defeats. Against Cleveland Force SC more than 1,700 came, the biggest crowd the club has drawn.
