West Seattle Junction FC gets the fixture circled on the calendar in Ballard: the two sides meet as the Seattle derby.

Interbay itself holds only around 1,200 with standing room, which meant a problem when the ground needed work in 2024 — the club shifted its regular season to Memorial Stadium at Seattle Center and came back to Interbay only for the playoffs. A privately funded expansion announced in March 2026 will add 267 seats, still modest, still local.

The club did not emerge from an old institution but from three people with Ballard connections: Lamar Neagle, who had played for Seattle Sounders FC, alongside Sam Zisette and Chris Kaimmer, both graduates of Ballard High School, founded the club on December 1, 2021. The name they gave the supporters, the Bridge Keepers, and the nickname the Bridges both point to the Ballard Bridge nearby, and the kit follows the same instinct for place — champagne and black for home, with red and orange tones drawn from sunsets at Golden Gardens Park and a nod to the area's Nordic heritage.

On the field the club has stacked up Northwest Division titles four years running through 2026.

Ballard has also worked as a launching point. Leo Burney moved on from the club to Seattle Sounders FC and then to Drogheda United.
