Colorado Storm

Mike DeShields went from Village Park to the fifth overall pick in the 2021 MLS Super Draft, taken by D.C. United, and moved on through Loudoun United, New England Revolution II, Hartford Athletic and Charlotte Independence.

Colorado Storm has run youth and semi-professional soccer in the Denver metropolitan area since 1967, one of the older such operations in Colorado. Its men's side competes in USL League Two, formerly known as the Premier Development League, and the club also fields a team in the USL W League. In 2018 the club won the USL PDL Central Conference title with a record of eight wins, four losses and three draws.

The Mountain Division pits Storm against Flatirons Rush as the closest thing the club has to a regular rival, though no fixture between them carries a name of its own.

There is no fixed home ground with a settled capacity. Training and matches move between local public parks across the Front Range, chiefly Village Park in Westminster and Rocky Mountain Lake Park in Denver.
