Bosnia-Herzegovina U19

The under-19s made their first appearance at a UEFA European Championship qualifying tournament in 2002, and since then the story has repeated itself with little variation: entry, group stage, exit. Twenty-three qualifying campaigns have followed the first, and the final tournament itself has never been reached. The closest the team came was in 2015, finishing third in its qualifying group, a result that still left it outside the places that count.

Across those years and 95 matches the record reads 24 wins, 17 draws and 56 losses. Ermin Mahmić passed through the under-19s on his way to the senior side, one of the clearer lines between the youth setup and the team that plays under the same crest. The current qualification cycle, for 2027, is already under way in Group A4, with Toni Karačić in charge of a side still trying to break the pattern that has held since 2002.

The Dragons, as the junior team is known just like their senior counterparts, train at the Football Training Centre of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Zenica, away from the capital. Beyond UEFA qualifying, the under-19 generation has had one other stage: the Mediterranean Games, where Bosnia and Herzegovina finished fifth in 2013 and eighth in 2018.
