Squad sessions run out of the LFF Kaunas Training Centre on Aukštaičių g. 51, a ground that suits a side built for development rather than crowds. There is no permanent home stadium in the club sense — the age group gathers, trains and plays there.

The team itself dates to Lithuania's admission to UEFA in 1992, and its first competitive fixture followed on 30 August 1993, a meeting with Wales U-16 that marked the country's youth football stepping onto the continental stage barely two years after independence. Qualifying campaigns for the UEFA European Under-17 Championship have followed most years since 1994.

Kęstutis Paknys shaped the age group for a decade between 1995 and 2005, long enough to leave his mark on how Lithuania's youngest internationals were coached. Marius Stankevičius went the other way: three caps for the U17s before a senior career that eventually brought him back in 2020.

The result that travelled furthest came in October 2025, away in Scotland, where Tomas Jonyla's goal settled a 1-0 win over England U17 in qualifying for the 2026 championship — the kind of scoreline that gets talked about well beyond the age category. It is still the LFF Kaunas Training Centre the squad returns to afterwards, training in Kaunas under the Lithuanian Football Federation before the next set of fixtures scatters them again.
