Miami

The South Florida Derby was Miami FC's fixture against Fort Lauderdale CF, the side that used to be the Fort Lauderdale Strikers. Boca Raton FC and Inter Miami CF are also counted as rivals, and the city's newer club, Inter Miami CF, shares the name of the place with them.

Miami FC came into being in 2015 through Riccardo Silva, a media entrepreneur, and Paolo Maldini, the former Italy defender, who co-owned it. Alessandro Nesta, another Italian defender, was the first head coach and stayed until 2017. The club joined the North American Soccer League (NASL) for the 2016 season. Stefano Pinho took the league's Golden Boot and Golden Ball that year.

The league then collapsed, and the club had to find somewhere to play. In 2018 it entered the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), an amateur competition, under the name Miami FC 2. It won the NPSL National Championship that year and again in 2019, when it also took the Sunshine Conference and the NISA East Coast Championship.

In December 2019 Miami bought the franchise rights of Ottawa Fury FC. That moved the club into the USL Championship for 2020.

Home games are played at Pitbull Stadium, also called Riccardo Silva Stadium, on the Florida International University campus. The stadium holds 20,000. The club plays in aqua and orange and uses a kingfisher named Golazo as its mascot.

Ariel Martínez is the club's all-time top goalscorer, with 31 goals.
