Tacoma Galaxy enters the USL W League as an expansion side. The announcement came on 2 February 2024, when the Tacoma Stars, the city's indoor soccer team, put their name behind a women's outdoor side. The link matters more than the paperwork suggests: the same ownership group had previously run Sounders Women, who won a Women's Premier Soccer League championship in 2018, though that trophy sits with the earlier club rather than with Galaxy. It gives the new team a pedigree without a history of its own.
Home games are played at Bellarmine Preparatory School, known locally as Memorial Field, which picked up proper spectator seating during renovations in 2017. Tacoma Galaxy has no nickname beyond its own name, and its colours have never been formally announced.
What the club runs on, for now, is the Stars' own website, which handles Galaxy's news and fixtures in place of a page of its own.
