Christian Pulisic scored 20 goals in 34 appearances for this side before Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea ever saw him. Gio Reyna, Ricardo Pepi, Weston McKennie and Brenden Aaronson followed the same road out of the same shirt.
There is no ground behind the crest. The United States under-17 side has never had a city to call its own, training instead at the Compass Minerals National Performance Center in Kansas City and the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Fayetteville, then travelling out to wherever the fixture is.
The results read better in the region than in the world. Three CONCACAF U-17 Championships, in 1983, 1992 and 2011, sit alongside eight runner-up finishes, most recently in 2023.
The team that keeps beating them to those regional finals is Mexico.
