Álvaro Agustín Lagos

Álvaro Agustín Lagos, known as Agustín Lagos, is a right-back from La Cañada, Santiago del Estero. He took his first steps in the game at Central Córdoba de Santiago del Estero before moving into the Atlético Tucumán academy, where he made his professional debut in 2020 and went on to feature in both the Liga Profesional and the Copa Sudamericana.

In July 2024, Atlético Tucumán sold him to Vélez Sarsfield for a fee of one million dollars, covering the full rights to the player, a deal confirmed by La Gaceta. Rather than staying to fight for a place at Vélez, Lagos was sent out on loan almost immediately to Platense, where he has worn the number 4 shirt as part of the arrangement running through the 2024–2026 seasons.

Even away on loan, he has collected silverware with his parent club. Lagos was part of the Vélez Sarsfield squad that won the 2024 Primera División title, and he was also included in the squads that lifted both the Supercopa Argentina, where Vélez beat Central Córdoba 2–0, and the Supercopa Internacional, won 2–0 against Estudiantes. In both of those finals he remained among the substitutes and did not take the field.

He has not yet received a call-up to the senior Argentina national team.
